In our travels, have been fortunate to travel around the world and experience different groups take on the challenge of making the best wine in the world. Al of the groups, whether they have history and prestige or passion and drive, start out with the best fruit in the world. While we at 6040 Wines have made wine from great vineyards, we have never had this world class fruit made available to us before. The A2 Vineyard gives us an opportunity to make some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon around, and we believe the result is the best we have every produced. We stand on the shoulders of giants in Napa here, and it’s pretty cool to reach for the stars. We hope you enjoy this wine as much as we relished the opportunity to make it.

While we make a variety of different wines, we feel our Super Tuscan-styled wines uniquely defines us at 6040 Wines. We start with a gorgeous light Sangiovese and let that shine. We add a little Bordeaux-style medley to help with a little structure and back end finish, but always with a goal of having a well-balanced and sophisticated wine that equally makes a good meal become great, or makes a moment with friends, a wonderful memory. Every time we do this, we think that we couldn’t do any better. Happy to say, we feel that way again here. Please enjoy the latest version of our signature wine.

We are super excited about our first Pinot Noir under the 6040 Wines label. To be honest, there was some hesitation as doing Pinot Noir really well requires years of experience to get the most out of the wine. But you can’t have experience unless you leap off the edge the first time, and we believe you will find this to be a wonderful wine. We have come to appreciate the elegance of a lighter red, but one that has the structure and depth to bring a fuller presence when required. We hope you enjoy the wine as much as we did putting it together.

This wine is a special one as it was put together for Jeff’s 50th birthday, and it was an opportunity to create a Rhone-style blend for the first time. It’s always interesting when doing blending as to what path one might take, and initially, it was tempting to start with the amazing Mourvedre as the main base. But upon reflection, the Grenache was so elegant that we committed to a wonderfully balanced and beautiful light red featuring 60% grenache and 30% mourvedre. Throw in a little syrah and a tiny bit of Petit Verdot and Malbec, and we end up with a wine that will always bring up memories of being with the people who celebrated the milestone birthday with us.
